At 10:34 WGFC was dispatched to assist Union Fire company of Oxford on a working building fire at the Octorara Hotel. As well as Quarryville (57) and Rising Sun (8). Upon arrival assistant 21 upgraded the incident to a working building fire with entrapment. Engine 21-1 was the first apparatus on scene hooking up to a hydrant and knocking the fire. Ladder 21 was the second piece on scene, crews laddered the building and assisted evacuating residents from the structure. While in route from West Grove main station Engine 22, Ladder 22 and Rescue 12 from the sub station were dispatched to a second call in the West Grove district for a barn fire. Engine 22 and Rescue 12 diverted to the call as Ladder 22 continued into Oxford. Assistant 22 arrived on scene at the barn fire and quickly determined it was a large controlled burn and recalled that assignment. Engine 22 and Rescue 12 diverted back to Oxford. On Ladder 22's arrival they were sent into help with extensive overhaul and searching for hot spots. Engine 22 and Rescue 12 crews staged in the man power pool.
