West Grove Fire Company, in partnership with Union Fire Company #1 of Oxford, participated in quarterly training with our Medical Director, Dr. Derek Isenberg.

Tonight's guest lecturer was Dr. Wasserman of Temple University Hospital Emergency Department. She lectured on hemorrhage control, tourniquet usage, and the pre-hospital management of penetrating trauma. Dr. Isenberg followed up with a lecture on indwelling devices (such as PICC lines, ports, LVADs and pacemakers) and provided updates on treating patients with such devices.

Our Medical Director, Dr. Derek Isenberg, is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and Attending Emergency Room Physician at Temple University Hospital. Quarterly, he provides training opportunities for the agencies he serves as Medical Director. His experience as a pre-hospital provider, prior to becoming a Physician, offers our providers an incredible learning opportunity tailored to the pre-hospital treatment of patients.
