Incident: Fire Investigation
Date: March 22nd, 2025
Time: 11:39 p.m. & 12:05 a.m.
Location: 11 Exchange Pl. & 107 W. Evergreen St., West Grove Borough

On Saturday, March 22nd at approximately 11:39 p.m., members of the Southern Chester County Regional Police Department and the West Grove Fire Department, were dispatched to the area of 114 E. Evergreen, West Grove, for the report of a structure fire. Officers arrived and observed an active fire to the rear of 11 Exchange Place. Officers evacuated the occupied second floor of the building and fire personnel were able to extinguish the flames.

While emergency responders were tending to the fire at 11 Exchange Place, they were approached by a resident at 12:05 a.m., who reported a second fire at the church located at 107 W. Evergreen. This fire was also quickly extinguished by the fire department. There were no injuries reported from either fire.

The cause of both fires remain under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshal’s office and this department. Preliminarily, the investigation does reveal a person of interest who appears on surveillance footage loitering in the immediate area of the first fire.

While we work to enhance the surveillance video and collect more evidence, we are asking for the public’s assistance to help identify the male in the pictures. We also ask that if you have surveillance cameras in the area near either of the two fires, that you review footage between the times of 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 22nd, and 12:30 a.m., Sunday, March 23rd.
