Tanker 22 from the West Grove Fire Company joined with tankers from Longwood, West Bradford, and Concordville to help demonstrate rural water supply operations.
The class was held at the Chester Heights Fire Company in Delaware County on Saturday morning. The weekend session was the culmination of a class teaching the operational principles of supplying water for fires in areas not served by fire hydrants. After two evenings of classroom instruction, students were given the opportunity to set up a water supply using portable water tanks and a tanker shuttle.
Over several hours, the class successfully moved 95,000 gallons of water and practiced techniques for tanker shuttle, fill site operations and portable water tank operations. |
