The West Grove Fire Company assisted the Singerly Fire Company of Elkton Saturday evening at a house fire in Cecil County, Maryland.

The WGFC responded with Rescue 22, Ladder 22 and the Tanker to the call on 184 Rock Church Road at 7:45pm. WGFC firefighters were initially assigned as RIT (Rapid Intervention Team, for firefighter rescue), and then shifted to overhaul on the first floor, opening up walls and ceilings to get the seat of the fire. Tanker 22 was involved in water supply for the rural location.

When the homeowner reported that the family's cat was still missing, WGFC firefighters opened up a wall in the kitchen where the cat was last seen and successfully rescued the cat. Units were on scene for about two hours.
