Some days in emergency services are unexpectedly busy. Such was the case on March 1, a Saturday that showcased the commitment to serving this community of the West Grove Fire Company.
The fire department ran calls from North East, Maryland to Toughkenamon. Dry and windy conditions, "little" fires became increasingly difficult. WGFC helped extinguish two working fires, multiple brush fires, and, during the height of the day, a WGFC EMS crew handled a cardiac arrest without any fire department assistance.
"Not all days are this busy, but our volunteer and career crews mitigated every challenge," said Eric Felker, Fire Chief. "I'm exceptionally proud how this team continues to crush it everyday, whatever the challenge." |
