A controlled burn spread to a brush-filled area over a creek bed in Franklin Township on Saturday.
West Grove firefighters responded to help extinguish the burn pile and brush burning in the rear of a horse pasture at the end of Hunt View Lane. Brush 22 drove down to the fire site and crews pulled apart the pile with a farm tractor and used about 600 gallons of water to cool down the pile preventing further fire spread.
Crews were on scene about two hours. |
