Units from across Chester County and also Lancaster County were dispatched to assist the Cochranville Fire Company (27) at 5:14pm Wednesday afternoon for an outbuilding fire in Londonderry Township.
The West Grove Fire Company was requested as one of several fire companies -- including Avondale (23), Oxford (21), Po-Mar-Lin (Unionville 36), Longwood (25), and Christiana (Lancaster 52). The Chester County 911 Center reported flames from a shed on Colton Drive off of Jennersville Road (Route 796).
Arriving 27 officers reported a 14'x16' shed fully involved. The first arriving apparatus was Tanker 22 from the WGFC, which deployed preconnected handlines to begin the firefight. Arriving firefighters on Cochranville's engines then assisted in knocking down the fire backed by Tanker 22's 3,500 gallons of water. With the shed a total loss, 27 reduce the assignment back to just the 27 and 22 units, along with Engine 23-2 which also had arrived quickly.
The WGFC responded with Engines 22-2 and -3, Tanker 22 and Ladder 22 along with a 22 ambulance and fire police. Engine 22-2 arrived on scene to assist 27 crews with final extinguishment, with Engine 22-3 and Ladder 22 recalled enroute.

Tanker 22 was the first arriving apparatus, deploying it's preconnected attack lines.
