Fire companies from three states battled a house fire in Maryland.
At approximately 2:00pm on January 18, fire companies were dispatched for the report of a house fire near the intersection of Telegraph Road (MD 273) and Fairview Road. The call was in the primary response district for Singerly Fire Company of Elkton. West Grove Fire Company was dispatched to provide an Engine. Also dispatched were fire companies from Rising Sun, Oxford, Cochranville, Newark (DE), Port Deposit, and Chesapeake City.
WGFC responded with Engine 22-1 out of West Grove and Rescue 22 out of New London.
Units arriving on scene reported a vacant home with fire showing. Crews battled fire conditions on all floors of the abandoned home, taking a defensive approach battling the fire from the exterior. Water supply involved a Tanker shuttle from a remote location with no nearby hydrants in the area.
WGFC crews were on scene for approximately three hours.
