Around midnight, West Grove Fire Company was dispatched to the 100 block of Den Road in Franklin Township for an unknown type fire. An observant neighbor in the area noticed embers high in the air and the odor of smoke and quickly called 911. Units searched the area and found a large tree and mulch on fire. The fire was encroaching on to a property on Vixen place, unbeknownst to the sleeping homeowner inside. Firefighters contained the fire to the tree/mulch and checked the exterior of the house for any fire extension.

Thankfully, early warning by an observant neighbor and a quick fire company response helped contain the fire to its area of origin and it did not spread to the adjacent property.
