A fire was reported Monday evening at 6:45pm in New Garden township that heavily damaged a home.
The home, located on Elliott Road in New Garden Township, was heavily involved in fire when firefighters arrived. The call was in the Avondale Fire Company’s district, with the West Grove Fire Company joining with units from Kennett Square 24, Longwood 25, and Hockessin 19 fire companies on the assist.
The WGFC had a full response as the company was in quarters preparing for an evening training class. Ladder 22 arrived as the first due special service and split crew for both interior search and roof venting. Rescue 22 and Engine 22-1 crews assisted Avondale’s Engine 23-2 with fire suppression and overhaul in the small house.
