A crash on Route 796 just below the traffic light at Pennock Bridge Road damaged four vehicles and sent one patient to the hospital.
The West Grove Fire Company was dispatched at 4:20pm for an auto accident near the Paramount Nurseries along 796 between Pennocks Bridge Road and Ledum Run Road. Initial reports suggested one or two vehicles were involved. WGFC units responding included Rescue 22, Engine 22-1, Ambulances 22-1 and -2, Utility 22-3, and Fire Police.
Chief 22 arrived on location and reported two vehicles hit head on with the roadway blocked. Shortly, he reported that four vehicles had been involved and asked that Medic 94 be added for injuries. Ultimately, only one patient was transported to the Christiana Hospital, with WGFC units remaining on scene until the State Police and two companies could clear the roadway.
