| West Grove Fire Company first responders handled two car crashes on Friday.
The first call came in just before 7am with reports of an accident on North Guernsey Road near the Route 1 Bypass in London Grove Township.
Delaware County Medic 104's chief, who lives in the area, was on scene first and reported a car into the bridge. Ambulance 22-2 arrived and began caring for the driver. The patient was ultimately transported by WGFC Ambulance 22-2 and Medic 104 to the trauma facility at Paoli Hospital. Engine 22-1was on scene assisting, along with WGFC fire police.
The second call came in just before 3:45pm in Franklin Township on Appleton Road just below the Kemblesville Post Office. Callers to the County 911 Center reported an suv had struck an electric pole which was on top of the car. WGFC Engine 22-3, Rescue 22, Engine 22-1 and both ambulances responded. Engine 22-3 confirmed the report of pole down, ascertaining no people were left in the vehicle. Crews assessed an adult and two children while WGFC fire police closed Appleton Road.
Given the severity of the pole damage, Appleton Road was closed for several hours. 22 units cleared the scene after about an hour. |
