Standing mutual aid agreements mean that fire and EMS organizations can assist each other during busy emergency periods. Such was the case on Tuesday as the Singerly Fire Company of Elkton, Maryland was busy at a working house fire in Perryville and requested that the West Grove Fire Company provide an engine to standby in their fire house.
While on standby at Station 13 in Elkton, Engine 22-1 was dispatched to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Reedy Lane and Frenchtown Roads in Cecil County. Engine 22-1 went on location with a crash involving a pickup truck and a SUV, and assisted EMS crews who cared for those that were injured, along with ensuring scene safety.
WGFC units were on scene at the crash for approximately 30 minutes.
