A sudden burst of unexpected sleet left area roads slick on Sunday evening resulting in many car crashes in Chester County. The WGFC was dispatched at about 9:15pm for reports of a car on its side with entrapment in Franklin Township.
The call was on Route 896 near Den Road, with a sedan on its side blocking the roadway. The operator was inside and could not get out of the car. Engine 22-1 and WGFC’s ambulances were on scene, quickly determining that the operator was not seriously injured, recalling Medic 94 who was on the initial dispatch. Also on scene was Engine 22-3, with crews first stabilizing the car, and then removing the windshield which allowed the driver to climb out.
Crews were on scene assisting with highway clean up for about 45 minutes.

Crews from Engine 22-1 stabilized the car to allow rescue evolutions to continue.
