March 14, 2025

In the midst of dry and warm conditions, first responders from the West Grove Fire Company were busy all of this week with brush fires and outdoor smoke investigations. A dozen calls were handled, including:

-- March 9: Brush on the roadside along Route 41 in London Grove
-- March 10: Brush and wood in a backyard, Chambers Rock Road, London Britain
-- March 10: Brush, Flint Hill Road, London Britain
-- March 11: Brush, Walnut Glen Road, Franklin
-- March 11: Smoke Investigation, State Road, New London
-- March 11: Brush, Benjamin Run, Franklin
-- March 11: Brush, Peggy Lane, West Nottingham, Assist Oxford 21
-- March 12: Brush, State Road, Elk, Assist Oxford 21
-- March 12: Brush, Dogwood Lane, Assist Cochranville 27
-- March 12: Brush, Rose Hill Road, London Grove
-- March 12: Brush, Corby Road, Penn
-- March 13: Smoke Investigation, Briar Chase, London Grove

These calls were handled by various WGFC units, including engines, the tanker, and brush truck, with help from our EMS crews and fire police. And, these calls were in addition to dozens of EMS emergencies and multiple accident calls as well. 2025 is on a record-setting pace for emergencies, and your fire company's first responders are getting the job done for this community.

Keep in mind that outdoor fires are discouraged in dry, warm and windy conditions.
