This summer, the Chester County Hero Fund has teamed up with 1-800-BOARDUP of Philadelphia for a Day of Giving that's all about supporting local heroes -- and having some fun at the same time.

At the heart of the fun is a big prize - the Ultimate Tailgating Package Raffle - Four Phillies tickets and an amazing prize pack including a Blackstone Griddle, Siberian cooler, camping chairs, a $250 Colonial Village gift certificates, beverages and a propane tank -- a dream setup for any tailgate or backyard bash. But the big win is for the charities that your raffle ticket supports.

Proceeds will benefit the Chester County Hero Fund, which provides immediate financial assistance to the families of first responders seriously injured or killed in the line of duty right here in Chester County. The national campaign also supports Project Fire Buddies, a national nonprofit connecting firefighters with children battling serious illnesses; the Firefighter Cancer Support Network, dedicated to assisting firefighters and their families following a cancer diagnosis; and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, which honors fallen heroes and supports their families left behind.

Entries can be made via the QR code in the graphic associated with this story, with raffle tickets costing $10.00. The WGFC thanks 1-800-BOARDUP for helping to put this important fund raising program together, and the Chester County Hero Fund for coordinating efforts in our area. Nationally, the goal is to raise $1 million with 50 percent going to local charities supporting first responders.
