Fire in a garage was handled by Avondale and area fire companies in New Garden Township.
WGFC assisted Avondale and Union of Oxford on two simultaneous fire calls on May 14 in New Garden and East Nottingham Townships.

Increasingly, WGFC firefighters have been busy with emergency calls that overlap - such was the case again on May 14 with two house fires - one assisting Avondale and one assisting Oxford.
The first call was a dispatched house fire in New Garden Township at 9:52pm assisting the Avondale Fire Company on Harrogate Drive. With reported fire in the garage, West Grove responded with Ladder 22, Engine 22-2 and Engine 22-3 and assisted with some secondary firefighting and overhaul, joining crews from Kennett Square, Hockessin, Cranston Heights, Longwood, Mill Creek, and Po-Mar-Lin all assisting Avondale.
Just 37 minutes later, WGFC firefighters were dispatched to assist the Union Fire Company of Oxford on a reported house fire on Oxford Road in East Nottingham Township. At that location was a house with a deck on fire. Engine 22-2 made the response from the Avondale Fire with crews standing by at the hydrant.
Both calls were cleared before 11pm. Working together, area fire companies respond to many emergencies. As call volume increases, simultaneous fire calls test training and response protocols. A similar situation occurred just a week earlier with working fires in a large garage and a house, both at the same time, in East and West Marlborough Townships.
