| WGFC would like to congratulate the following young members on the completion of their EMT certification: John Aguilar, Colin Gattorno, and Myla Kerr.
At a ceremony held at the County Public Safety Training Campus, WGFC's Myla Kerr was presented a Clinical Excellence Life Saving Award. Myla, while doing ride along time during her training alongside WGFC Captain Rob Linnenbaugh (also her EMT instructor), as well as others at WGFC and paramedics from Medic 94, responded to a cardiac arrest. Their efforts resulted in a life saved. Congrats to all!
John, Colin and Myla did their Emergency Medical Technician training through the Octorara Homeland Security & Protective Services Academy (OHSPSA), a three-year career and technical education program for high school students which prepares students for careers in law enforcement, criminal justice, pre-hospital emergency medical care, emergency management, military services, and firefighting. For more information about the program, see the link below.
Congratulations John, Colin and Myla! |
