Fast Work Prevents Shed Fire from Spreading to Nearby Home

Firefighters from the West Grove Fire Company responded to reports of a shed fire Saturday in the Avon Wheel Estates neighborhood of London Grove Township. A fully involved shed fire had spread to a large tree and fire was threatening an adjacent residence.
Engine 22-1 arrived and laid in from a nearby hydrant, with crews quickly deploying an 1-3/4" attack line. With fire fueled by a reported gas can in the shed, flames had advanced from the shed into a large tree with fire now more than 20 feet high. With a goal of preventing fire spread into the home, crews quickly knocked down the shed and tree fire. Their quick work limited damage to some melted siding and a window failing, but no fire spread in the residence.
Additional firefighters from the Avondale and West Grove fire companies assisted on overhaul and cleanup, with units on scene for about an hour.
