Fire departments, including the West Grove Fire Company, were called to assist the Union Fire Company of Oxford yesterday in Lower Oxford Township. The house fire was initially reported as a fire in a garage at 11:29am on Kimble Road. First arriving units reported heavy fire in the garage with extension to the house, with alarm expanded to a working fire.
West Grove responded with Ladder 22, Engine 22-2 and Engine 22-3, with WGFC firefighters assisting with firefighting and overhaul on the second floor and elsewhere on the fire ground. WGFC units were on scene approximately three hours. Our thanks to the Hockessin Fire Company who was on standby in West Grove during the incident.

As crews wrapped up overhaul, extensive damage to the home is shown.
